We joined forces with many other labs in the College of Engineering to once again put on an amazing National Biomechanics Day! We had about 150 students from around the triangle come to learn about engineering, biomechanics, and why NC State (and BME especially) is awesome. Check out some photos below.

NCSU/UNC BME wins National Biomechanics Day Student Competition
Congratulations to our department, including TORL, which won the National Biomechanics Day Student Competition! We were one of three entries selected based on high quality biomechanics content. The second annual National Biomechanics Day was held on April 6, 2017. See the announcement here!
TORL Outreach Activities: Spring
TORL participated in several outreach activities this spring.
- Invite-a-Scientist: The Invite-a-Scientist program is put on by the North Carolina Science Festival. It pairs scientists with local middle schools, where they spend the day teaching students about their research and why they chose to become a scientist. We went out to Apex Middle School to teach the kids a bit about biomedical engineering.
- CVM Open House: The vet school at NC State hosts a yearly outreach event to teach the public about some of the amazing research going on.
